Growing Change in 2023: CATA's Impact Empowering Immigrant Communities

Looking back on 2023, We are proud of the real difference we've made in people's lives.

Empowering Immigrant Workers Through Outreach and Education

In 2023, our outreach efforts allowed us to connect with over 1,500 migrant workers across 70 locations. We assisted more than 350 workers in applying for critical financial support through the FFWR Fund. Additionally, 200+ individuals learned about their rights in 24 of our training sessions.

Nourishing Communities Through Food Justice

Our community garden harvested a whopping 45 varieties of culturally diverse produce this year! We hosted weekly farmer's markets and cultural events, feeding around 90 local families. Seeing the pride our youth interns take in growing food firsthand and distributing it to neighbors in need is just heartwarming.

Amplifying Immigrant Voices on the Airwaves Our radio station RadioCATA has become an essential community resource, sharing vital information and empowering immigrant workers to share their voices. We now have 4 Latinx volunteer DJs hosting fantastic live shows on workers' rights and more. Broadcasting live on Facebook has allowed us to expand our reach and amplify the stories of our community.

Advocating for the Rights of Latino Immigrants From pushing for drivers' licenses for all to unemployment benefits for undocumented workers, we've campaigned tirelessly for legislation to uphold immigrant rights in 2023. Collaborating with amazing partners, we've fought to improve access to vaccines and social services too. There's always more work to be done, but we're committed to this fight.

At the end of the day, CATA's work is about migrant workers empowerment. We strive to support our immigrant community with advocacy and direct services that help make life safer, fairer and more just. When we see the passion of our members and the change we're creating together, we know our mission matters now more than ever. ¡Sí se puede!

We have ambitious plans this year to eliminate discriminatory wage laws and engage Latino youth in get-out-the-vote efforts. But to get there, we need resources to empower more workers to become advocates.

You can be part of this movement for equity and justice for those who feed us. Please consider making a generous Giving Tuesday donation today. Your contribution will directly support immigrant families - and build worker power.
