Maryland Takes a Stand: A Major Victory Against Harmful ICE Partnerships
Maryland lawmakers took an important step by passing legislation to ban 287(g) agreements, programs that allow local collaboration with ICE. For immigrant communities on the Eastern Shore, this vote represents real progress toward reducing fear and instability. While some local leaders pushed to expand these partnerships, advocates and community members continued organizing for safer, more just policies that protect families and restore trust.
