CATA Videos"Los Trabajadores" / "The Workers""Los Trabajadores" illustrates the challenges faced by farmworkers - from migration and arrival in the United States to difficult labor, housing and health conditions. It also depicts the benefits and victories that organizing collectively can produce.
"La Lucha del Migrante" / "The Migrant's Struggle"In January of 2007, CATA members, staff and volunteers worked together to paint a beautiful mural in Moroleon, Mexico. "La Lucha del Migrante" is a short documentary that describes some of CATA's history, introduces the viewer to the situation faced by many immigrant workers in the U.S., and the reasons we went to paint the mural in Moroleon, Guanajuato, México - the hometown of many mushroom harvesters who live in Southeastern Pennsylvania. "Obligados a Migrar" / "Obligated to Migrate"In January of 2007, Crecenciano Jose Sanchez and Richard Mandelbaum traveled to Oaxaca to visit the community where Crecenciano is originally from, Santa Cruz Tepetotula, which is also the hometown of many migrants in Bridgeton, NJ. "Obligados a Migrar" tells the story of the situation faced by many rural families in Mexico, and one communities struggle to create an alternative to emigration with a communally managed organic coffee plantation. If you would like CATA to come and show the video to your union/organization/religious group/school, please contact Marge Niedda at CATA 856-881-2507 or email Marge Niedda at marge@cata-farmworkers.org to make an appointment
